I was able to finish up my paperwork for my submission with the help of my wife (always good to bring in help!)… and a couple days ahead of the deadline. Now I just need to wait for the 15th to see if I am accepted. I heard there were a lot of entries - so there is a bunch of competition!
Much of what I have been working on lately has been in preparation for a juried show I am submitting an entry to. Unfortunately, I have not been able to prepare as much for the show as I would have liked - three pieces can be submitted, but I only have one ready.
And the entry part is proving to be the hardest part, as I have to title my work (which I always hate), state the selling price (which I always hate) and submit a short bio (which I also always hate). I have a previous bio which I could edit, except the requirement for this bio is that it be “about you - not your work or your direction or a mini cv”. This makes it feel harder, as these are the things that seem relevant to the work and are easiest to talk about. Thankfully it only needs to be 6 or 7 sentences.
The hard deadline is Tuesday, Feb 28th - it feels like it might take me that long just to fill out the form!
